Overview of Panorama

Welcome to the Panorama Payphone Management System. Panorama is Protelís Windows-based payphone management software, and your tool for achieving greater operational efficiencies in managing your payphone business. Panorama features an extremely friendly user interface, making even the most difficult tasks effortless; traditionally complex and cumbersome tasks have been streamlined. If youíre familiar with other popular Windows-based programs, then you already have a working knowledge of navigating in Panorama.

The Navigator is Panoramaís ìHome Page.î This is the first page displayed when Panorama is started. Click on the buttons to jump to the related topics. (More text below the graphic.)

The footer on every window, referred to as the Navbar gifs/pan00001.gif, contains buttons that represent the same items on the Navigator, as well as a button at the end that returns you to the Navigator. The Navbar gives you the ability to go from wherever you are to wherever you want to go, without the need to back out to the Navigator first. The Index of this Help program is structured to follow the structure of Panorama, starting from the Navbar. If you remember how you arrived at an item you need help with, follow that same path in the Index of the Help.

You may view the buttons at the top of each window with or without a text description included. To include the text below the button, put the mouse pointer over a button, right-click, and select the Text option.

To remove the Menu (File, Window, Help, etc.) from above the buttons, point the mouse to a button, right-click, and de-select the Menu option.

Three other applications launch with the Management Application (Mgtapp). These are the Protel Communication Server Executive, the Protel Central Database Link, and the Protel Modem Server. They handle the client-server and the client-phone communications. If these are left running, Automatic Polling will occur even when the Mgtapp is not left running. No user interaction with these three programs is necessary; they each perform their tasks automatically. These helper apps can be found in the Windows System Tray, next to the clock display. Right click on the green and black square to open the menu that controls the three applications.

If you have XpressNet data and have not yet imported it, do so (follow the instructions in the Panorama Preview booklet), then refer to the topic Condense Call Processing and Route Records for instructions on cleaning up and streamlining your data and operations.

Panorama is the most power-packed and feature-rich Payphone Management System in the industry. We are confident that you will enjoy exploring the new features offered in Panorama and the flexibility it brings to your payphone operation. Panorama will take your business into the next millennium.
