The General tab is the first tab displayed when the Phone window is opened. To open the Phone window, click on the Phones & Customers button in the Navigator or the Navbar. If the Phone window has not been chosen to open in the Preferences, then either the Quick View window or the Phone List window will appear. In either case, these windows may be used to find the desired phone record. Search records by field in the Quick View window, or search records by Location Name/Description field in the Phone List window. When either method is used, the Phone window will open with the desired phone record displayed and the General tab selected.
The General tab can be configured to perform Box Volume, Average per Day, and Coin Delta calculations for more than the most recent communication. The phone may also be included in any of the four User Definable Categories from here. Either select a name from the pull-down menu or type in a new one.
The information displayed in the communication history includes:
The Date and Time of every poll to this phone since the last Purge
Any Alarms / Flags
The Total To Date of money that the phone has collected since the phone was first in operation
The Amount In Box, in dollars
The amount of money Collected from the phoneís coin box, when appropriate
The coin Box Volume, as percent full
The Average per Day field above the table is calculated by subtracting the Amount In Box of the most recent poll and the same value of a previous poll (specified in
the Preferences) and then dividing the difference by the number of days between the two poll
dates. For the table, each entryís Amount In Box is subtracted from the same field in the last entry listed
(the oldest), and the difference is divided by the number of days elapsed between
the two dates.
The Coin Delta is the difference in dollars between two consecutive polls that are not on
the same day. The calculation is used to determine if the recent daily earnings
are drastically different than the Average per Day field, just below it.
The Coin Delta calculation is used to determine if the recent daily earnings are significantly different than the Average per Day field, just below it. Differences might be indicative of many things; two of which might be calling patterns or problems with the phone.
Both the Coin Delta and the Average per Day fields use the communication history for data. Behind the scenes, this data is stored in the Status table, which is one of the contributing tables for a phone record. The communication history can be updated after each poll or report by clicking the Refresh button. More money-critical figures produced by Panorama use Call Detail Records, which provide specific information about each call. See the topic View CDR for more information about this type of data.
Display of the Box Volume, the Average per Day, and the Coin Delta are controlled in the Preferences. If they are not selected in the preferences, the columns will not be displayed.
