Fraud Det ñ Some local telephone companies detect an ended call and give a new dialtone. If the payphone user stays off hook after the person that was called has hung up, the phone can be easily frauded. To defeat this, if a new dialtone is detected before the hook switch is used, the phone will dial ì111î. This makes further dialing useless until the payphone user hangs up and picks up again. Choose to Enable or Disable this option.
Route #
ñ This field indicates which route will be used for each Call Type. Change the routing by changing the name in the Route ID field. The Route # field can be edited, though; click on the column heading and choose the option to make the field editable. Changing the number in the Route # field will change the name in the Route ID field. Both fields reference the Route Assignments window. The eight Route Assignments following the route assignment for the 0+10 band are used for 0+ Call Type separation when option 1A5 and option 151 ñ Allow 0+ Separation by Call Type are checked. (If 0+10 is assigned route 7, then 0+ calls will be routed by Direct Routes 8 through 15, but only if the two options mentioned above are checked. If both are not checked, then 0+ calls will use the route assigned to them in the General tab of the Call Processing window. The eight routes, 8 ñ 15 in this example, will be used for processing 0+ calls by the first eight Call Types in the General tab of the Call Processing window.)
Route ID
ñ Change the call Route by selecting a Route ID from among those assigned to a Route # in the Route Assignments window. The Route # field will be updated automatically.
Answer Recognition
ñ Use this to Enable the phoneís answer detection, to use the local service providerís Loop Reversal (if available), or to Disable answer detection. Please refer to your phoneís Ownerís Manual to find out what options are available to you. Use Mode 167 in the Unassigned tab of the Options window to switch between hardware or firmware answer detection, depending on the phone model. (Checked = firmware)
Capture Digits
ñ After a call has been placed, Capture Digits will keep a record of all the other numbers dialed after the original phone number. When Yes is selected for a Call Type, the phone will collect all subsequent dialed numbers and upload them during a poll or report . If No is selected, the phone will not collect the subsequent dialed numbers.Collect CDR
ñ If No is selected, then during a poll or report, Panorama will not collect Call Detail Records for this Call Type. Yes tells Panorama to retrieve this specific phone call data. The Call Type is recorded within the Call Detail Record if option 1A5 is checked in the Unassigned tab of the Options window. (If it is not checked, Collect CDR will not work.) The advantage of checking this option is that, using the Collect CDR column, CDR can be selectively pulled from the phone by Call Type, as mentioned earlier in this paragraph. Reducing the number of Call Types to be collected reduces the polling time, which saves money. Another advantage is that the Call Accounting window and the Call Accounting report will break down the Coin Calls and 0+ calls by Call Type. Note: Recording and collecting CDR by Call Type is only available when using Y2k compliant firmware. Also, a properly configured Cost record is necessary to classify a call by Call Type. Cost files obtained from Protel and Protelís distributors contain the necessary information to take advantage of this useful and money-saving feature.
Drug Window
ñ When the Drug Window field is Enabled for a Call Type, the payphone will not be able to make coin calls to that Call Type during the three Auto Polling ìwindowsî of time. This feature is useful in drug-traffic areas to prevent dealers from using the phone. If they canít set up their deals from your payphone, they will likely not loiter around that phone, reducing the risk of theft or vandalism to the phone and the property where the phone is installed. By enabling the drug window for only specific Call Types, revenue from other Call Types will not be effected. Specify the drug windows in the General tab of the Call Processing window. The Drug Window can only be used when the phone is running Y2k compliant firmware.
